Event Overview

Don’t leave them at home. Furry friends are always welcome in the Historic District, especially during, Tails & Sales! This event is filled with cocktails and sales from favorite downtown merchants. Competitions and even a dog run will complete this exciting  event!

DISCLAIMER: Dogs can be unpredictable in their nature. For this reason there is always a risk with any animal, known or unknown. The Downtown Bethlehem Association assumes no responsibility for any incidents that occur during our event. Please be sure to keep your pups on their leashes at all times.


Vark & Bark Doggie Dash

Sponsored by Aardvark Sports Shop, this 1-mile race with pups is designed to bring awareness and raise money for a local nonprofit group. This run will occur on Main Street and through the Colonial Industrial Quarter. Participants will pre-register starting April 14, 2022. Race Day Registration will begin at  9:30 AM and Doggie Dash between 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM.

*Cost to participate: $30 – each participant will receive a t-shirt, a bandana, a coupon for a beer at Lost Tavern Brewing and more! Proceeds will benefit The Center for Animal Health and Welfare.


“Pup-Struction” Doghouse Building Competition

Local organizations and teams  will compete for bragging rights for constructing the best doggie pad! The doghouses will be auctioned off during our first ever silent auction. Proceeds will benefit Northampton County’s Center for Animal Health and Welfare. Registration will open April 14th, 2022. The doghouses may be dropped off on May 20th between 10:00 AM & 4:00 PM, to make arrangements please email  The competition will be held May 21st between 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM


Doggie Parade -UPDATE

We have some sad news, we have to postpone the DOGGIE PARADE due to the hot weather on Saturday! BUT make sure you come down for the Doggie run in the morning and Cocktail Trail that is happening on Main Street!


The Barking Lot

This area of Main Street (531 Main Street) will serve as our Barking Lot. Visit with The Center for Animal Health and Welfare and meet some rescues! This area wouldn’t be complete without additional vendors that will supplement the shopping experience on Main and Broad Streets.

Cocktail Trail

Fetch your cocktail samples for from 12 participating merchants while you shop and stroll throughout the Historic District. Various water stations will be available for your pups to fill up too. Registration will take place at Hyatt Place Bethlehem from 12:00 PM – 3:00 PM and the trail runs from 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM.

* Cost to participate in the trail is $45.
